Because family photographs are personal, describe the problem without attaching the image if possible. Only send a photograph if you have permission and are comfortable sharing it with support.
No. Face restoration, upscaling, and identity-safety checks run on your iPhone or iPad. Likeness has no account system, analytics, or upload service, and restoration works in airplane mode.
Generative restoration can infer detail that is no longer visible in a damaged source. Likeness reduces that risk by preserving structure from the original photograph, offering a restoration-strength control, and warning when its on-device comparison detects an unusually large deviation. Always compare the result with the original—especially for a photograph where the person's face matters more than sharpness.
If a face occupies very few pixels in the source, there is not enough evidence to reconstruct it responsibly. Likeness may leave that face unchanged rather than guessing at details.
No. Saving creates a new photo in your library. The selected source is never edited or deleted.
The on-device models may take a moment to load the first time they are used. Later restorations in the same session are usually faster. Large photographs and images containing several faces also take longer.
Five complete restorations are included. The counter is spent only after a restoration is produced, not when you pick a photo or cancel. After that, a one-time lifetime unlock covers unlimited restoration; Apple displays the current local price before purchase. There is no subscription.
Open Settings in Likeness and tap Restore Purchases while signed into the same App Store account used for the purchase. If the entitlement still does not appear, restart the app and contact support with the error text—never send payment-card details.
Yes. The restoration models are bundled in the app. Internet access is needed only for App Store purchase operations or when you deliberately open an external support or policy link.
